Listing of Nokia WiFi Errors and Resolutions for the Nokia 6086. Sometimes my Nokia 6086 will have issues connecting to a wireless network in my home, a network that never changes! I have never been able to connect to any wi-fi network with either my 6086 or my wife's similar phone. The phones recognise the networks and I enter the appropriate keys or passwords but to no avail. Both my provider (Orange) and Nokia claim that they are unable to resolve the issue. Any advice?

I would suggest turning off any security features on your wireless router that may be causing this issue (mac filter, WEP, private/public keys, etc.) If you can get your phone to connect this way, you may want to try an alternative security protocol. I personally use MAC filters.

Have had an open trouble ticket since July. Part of the UMA issue is the t-mobile setup. It is all hosted on a sprint owned IP block with what appears to be no redundancy. If it's the only phone I need, why does t-mobile have to call me back on my landline? The phone is bad but not as bad as customer service. I had a manager cuss me out and remind me he had my home address. I filed a complaint at BBB.org and got a judgement against t-mobile for not even responding. Thats shadey service.

Wow, that's terrible. Until recently I've been having issues with my wireless router, seems it didn't want to play well with the phone. So I hooked up the router that came with the phone, after a few firmware upgrades and adjustments, all was well. I'm curious though as to why my commercial-grade router of 3 years decided that it suddenly didn't want to allow Wireless connections. Even after doing resets it just didn't want to play.

I had already tried turning off the security features. Makes no difference. I've tried to access my home network and other public networks all to no avail. The networks are all recognised and displayed on the phone, just cannot connect.

glnolan - what are some of the Nokia errors you are receiving? Have you replaced the phone, perhaps it's an issue directly with the hardware of your device?
GL Nolan posted 1 year ago:
There are no Nokia error codes at all, usually the error message says 'network connection failed' or something similar. I have not replaced the phone and my wife has a similar phone which behaves in exactly the same way, which has lead me to believe it is not a hardware issue. I suspect it is something to do with the Orange set-up, but Orange customer services deny that and claim it's a Nokia issue. In truth, I don't believe Orange have the wi-fi experience to handle the issue. Have you heard of similar problems with Orange? I'm hoping the problem may disappear when I get the phone unlocked.

gl - Have you tried changing the 'Packet Data Settings' on the phone? Perhaps you can alter where the phone is trying to reach via WiFi. I'm thinking your phone can't hit the proper servers used for Voip under the Orange service. Personally, I have T-Mobile here in the states, and they have specifics servers I can hit, although I haven't played with it myself.
