T-Mobile's Hotspot at Home Failure
After using the T-Mobile's Hotspot at Home service not even a full year, I switched over to another provider. Long story short, it started out well and failed miserably later in it's life. While the phone had it's normal issues, there were many related to T-Mobile's server. First off, The phone could rarely connect to my WiFi, after months of working with it, and troubleshooting each issue as they occurred the phone simply would stop function on any WiFi.
Scenario 1: Phone connected to WiFi signal.
If the Nokia 6086 had connected to a WiFi signal, while attempting to make a call it would disconnect completely requiring me to dial the number again, and that call would occur on T-Mobile's network, not the WiFi network.
Scenario 2: Phone receives a call while connected to a WiFi signal.
Much like Scenario 1, the phone would disconnect completely, switch to T-Mobile's network, and then you would have to return the call.
Scenario 3: Phone receives a call while on T-Mobile's network.
Phone would ring once, send the caller to voicemail. Second attempt, phone would ring twice then end the call as I picked up. Now I remember why I wanted the WiFi service.
In the end, I feel it was worth the try... Unfortunately, T-Mobile's Hotspot at Home failed my tests miserably. Look forward to some mobile phone content from the AT&T network. Such as the Samsung Black Jack II and the Apple iPhone.
